Film Festival
At the heart of the festival is a simple question: What would the world look like if women had the freedom, opportunity, dignity and voice to shape their own future? Your film can explore this question in many ways. You could tell a story about Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), breaking silence and stigma, a girl’s education, women in leadership, everyday acts of courage, access to opportunity, technology, community change, or a future where equality is simply normal. You can also imagine something completely different. We are interested in your vision of what is possible. Why are we doing this? This festival is part of Youth’s Voice’s MHM 2026 initiative. Youth’s Voice has been working on Menstrual Hygiene Management since 2015, using culture, creativity and conversation to create awareness and encourage change. We believe that awareness does not have to come only through workshops, campaigns or statistics. **A story can make people feel. A film can make people think. A conversation can change a culture.** Through this festival, we want to create a space where young filmmakers can look at issues affecting women and girls—not only through the lens of problems, but also through strength, imagination, leadership and possibility. We are not asking you to simply show suffering. Show us what could be different. Show us the girl who speaks up. The woman who leads. The community that breaks a taboo. The school that creates dignity. The future that we have not yet imagined. What are we looking for? We are looking for 3–7 minute short films in any of these formats: Fiction - Documentary - Animation Your film can be serious, emotional, hopeful, imaginative, experimental or thought-provoking. You don't need expensive equipment or a professional production team. A powerful story told with a phone can be more meaningful than an expensive film with nothing to say. What matters is: Your idea. Your perspective. Your storytelling. Your ability to make people see something differently. What should your film make us feel? We want to finish your film and think: “I never looked at it that way before.” Maybe your film starts a conversation. Maybe it challenges a belief. Maybe it makes someone question an unfair reality. Maybe it gives us a glimpse of a better future. Make us think. Make us feel. Make us imagine. One more thing... By participating you are joining a collective of changemakers. Your film becomes part of a larger conversation about equity, rights, dignity and women's empowerment. And if your story inspires us, it could win up to BDT 10,000. Students also receive 50% OFF registration fees with a valid Student ID. So, what story have you been waiting to tell? Turn your story into cinema. Submit your 3–7 minute film by 31 August 2026. Sultana’s Dream Film Festival is a part of Youth’s Voice MHM 2026 Initiative. Your Story. Your Voice. Your Film.
